Choosing the right school for your child is a big step, and we're so pleased you are considering Scargill Infant School. We understand what an important decision this is for you and your family, and we are delighted that you are considering our school as a place where your child can begin their learning journey.

We warmly invite you to come and visit us for a tour. This is the best way to see our nurturing environment, meet our dedicated staff, and get a real feel for the exciting opportunities your child will experience here.

Nursery Intake 2025-2026

In September 2025 our Nursery will be expanding! We have 3-4 year old places available so please do get in touch on 01708 555707. 

Our Nursery runs term time only for children that are 3 years old and are due to start Reception the following September. We currently take children who are three and four years old and are entitled to 15 hours funded childcare. To check if you are eligible for a 30 hour place please go to http://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. 

For children that are eligible for the 15 hour place, they can do 5 morning sessions or 5 afternoon sessions for the week. Children that are eligible for the 30 hour place are eligible to stay with us for the morning and afternoon sessions everyday. Lunch is available daily for an extra cost. 

Our session times are as follows. 

8.45am Start of the Morning Session

11.45am End of the Morning Session

11.45 to 12.15pm Lunchtime (For a fee of £5 for the additional time & £2.37 per school dinner)

12.15 Start of the Afternoon Session

3.15pm End of the Afternoon Session
